Neal Boyd
Date of Birth: January 26, 1975
Residence: Hammond, Louisiana
Occupation: Webmaster, Design Coordinator, Photographer, Animator, Illustrator (pen and paper, vector and raster), Code-Proofer, Content Management Admin, Hardware/Software Tech Support, Pre Press Designer, Narrator, Kiosk/Table Top Display Developer, Conference A/V and Computer Tech, Logo Designer, Presentation Developer, and a few more things for the state of Louisiana.
Outside of Work: Skateboarding, writing, and pretty much everything listed in my occupation. I’m a geek at home, too.
Geek Philosophy: Skill sets should always be diverse and expanding. Always bring work home with you.
Computers: For the desktop, I use PC, Mac, and certain flavors of Linux. For server environments, I’m familiar with Windows, Linux, Unix, and FreeBSD using server applications like IIS, Apache, proprietary platforms, as well as control panels like Plesk, CPanel, phpMyAdmin, and similar proprietary systems.
Software: I’m a software addict. I install and run software that I’ll never use in day to day life.  Just as some people collect and put together jigsaw puzzles, I enjoy figuring out the capabilities, limitations, and nuances of any given software application be it on a desktop, server, or mobile device.
Spammers: I am no friend to spammers, phishers, or anyone else that would use deceptive, malicious, unethical, or illegal means to scam people out of their money. I also take it personally when spammers use my bandwidth (at home or at the office) to sell their wares. I’ve assisted in the temporary shutdown of several spam operations (temporary because for every one you shut down, ten more arise). Over the years I’ve become somewhat accomplished at tracking down US-based spam operations, even when they spoof themselves. As a guilty pleasure, I tend to make direct phone calls to spammers letting them know first-hand what actions I’ll be taking against them (along with the support of various internet service providers that handle the spam accounts). Should you receive an email from anyone “@loudblue.com,” it’s not from this site or even from me… the loudblue.com domain name is not used for any email services, just for this site. All emails from me come from the Gmail account referred to in the Contact page.
Toys and Comics: Yes, please.
